Do The Korean Passport Holders Need To Apply For An Indian E-Visa To Visit India 

Yes. The Korean passport holders who wish to enter and reside in India for multiple purposes do need to apply for an Indian Visa. Since Korea is included in the list of eligible countries for the E-Visa, the Korean applicants can apply for an Indian E-Visa online which can happen anytime and anywhere they want. 

The Korean applicants as discussed above, can apply for a wide range of Visas depending on why and for how much time they wish to stay in India. The validity period of the Indian Tourist E-Visa is one year. In this one year, the Korean applicant can enter the country two times. And can stay in the country for sixty days continuously. 

Then the Indian business E-Visa has a validity period of one year too. But the number of days for which the applicant can stay in the country is longer than the other Visa types. 

The number of days for which a Korean applicant can stay in India with an Indian E-Visa is sixty days continuously. This can be done for the one year validity of the Visa. The number of entries for which the applicant can enter India with this Visa type is two times. 

With the Indian E-Visa, the Korean applicant is able to seek short-term medical treatment in the country. Thus the validity of the Indian medical E-Visa is shorter than the other two Visa types. The number of days for which the Indian medical E-Visa will remain valid is sixty days. And the number of times that an applicant can enter India with the Indian medical E-Visa is three times. 

The same rules and regulations apply for the Indian medical Attendant E-Visa holders too. 

The eligibility standards for the Indian E-Visa is as follows:-

  • The Korean applicant should be in possession of a latest Korean passport. The passport needs to compulsorily have a minimum of one eighty days validity. 
  • The Korean passport holders who are entering India for travel, business, medical or conference purposes where the stay does not surpass sixty days. 
  • The Korean travellers who are entering India should not be staying in the country. Or working in the country. 
  • The Korean applicant needs to show proof for enough financial funds to stay in India for the entire trip. And also a ticket for their onward journey. Or return to Korea. 
  • The Korean applicant should not be a persona-non-grata to the Government of India. 
  • The Korean passport holder who is travelling to India with the Indian E-Visa should be considered as an undesirable person. 

The Korean applicants whose parents or grandparents were the passport holders of Pakistan. Or who were the permanent residents of Pakistan will not be considered eligible for applying for an Indian Visa on arrival. They will have to gain an Indian Visa from the Indian Mission who is appointed for it. 

The Korean passport holders who hold the Diplomatic passport will not be considered eligible for applying for this type of Visa. This goes the same for the Korean nationals who hold official passports of international travel documents.

It should be noted by every Korean passport holder that the Indian E-Visa is non-extendable. Thus the traveller will not be able to extend the Visa while they are in the country. If they overstay, they will have to face certain consequences. 

It should also be noted by every Korean passport holder that the Indian E-Visa is non-convertible too. This means that one Visa type cannot be converted into another Visa type.

What Are The Essential Documentation Required To Gain The Indian Visa For The Korean Passport Holders 

The Indian Visa requirements for the passport holders of Korea are extremely simple and limited. The first main requirement of the Visa is the passport of the applicant. Especially, the scanned copy or the electronic copy of the applicants' passport will be required. This copy should show the first and last page of the passport legibly. 

These copies should be prepared in a PDF file format. Next, the Korean applicant will be required to arrange a passport sized image of himself. In this image, the entire face of the applicant should be compulsorily seen. No features of the face should be hidden. This photo should be sent in a JPEG file format. 

The Indian Visa will also ask the applicant to submit some additional details and information. This can range from passport information from the Korean travellers' parents or spouse. 

Then the applicant will also be required to mention the ports through which they will enter and exit the country. Information regarding the applicants' source of income or employment will also be taken for the Indian Visa application. 

The applicants' who are not able to provide enough proof for sufficient funds to stay in India will not be given the Visa or entry in India. The Korean applicants who are not able to return to Korea from India before their Visa expires will have to face consequences like deportation or fine.

The Indian Visa Application Form For The Passport Holders Of Korea 

The Indian embassy or Government has made an electronic application questionnaire through which the Korean applicant will be able to apply for an Indian Visa from the comfort of their homes. With the help of this questionnaire, the Korean applicants will be able to submit Indian Visa requests for a tourist Visa, business Visa or medical Visa online only. 

Before the Korean applicant leaves Korea, they should make sure that they are in possession of their Korean passport, Visa approval letter or the electronic Visa, the email in which the Visa had arrived, etc. 

When the Korean applicant is filling the application form, they should make sure that they are filling the entire form at once and are not leaving any fields or questions empty. The Korean applicant will be given a distinct reference number. This number will be given in the beginning.

  • The Indian Visa application form should be filled and signed by the Korean applicant itself. It should not be signed by any other third party. Or any other representative. 
  • The Korean applicant is required to sign the application questionnaire below their photo. The photo is usually present on the second page of the application questionnaire. 
  • Before the Korean applicant submit his Indian Visa application, he should check and make sure that no other Indian Visas are present on their passport. Or no other valid Indian Visas are present on their passport. 
  • Each printed copy of the Indian Visa will contain a unique barcode. This barcode will be seen on the below left-hand section of the application questionnaire. Thus the applicant should make sure that their Visa copy has this unique barcode. 
  • The place of birth mentioned in the applicants' Visa should match their place of birth mentioned in their passport. This applies to all the other details and information in the applicants' Visa too. 
  • The date and the country in which the Korean applicants' passport has been issued should be fully matching with the passport that is being used to fill the Indian Visa application form. 
  • The fields should be properly filled and the fields which are indicated as compulsory should be compulsorily filled and should not be left unfilled.
